Building & Zoning
The staff of the Zoning and Building Department works closely with the Planning and Economic Development Department to support the work of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, and the Eastern Point Historic District Commission. Both serve as the principal point of contact for developers, residents, or others with land use or building permit questions, projects, and/or applications.
- View the Planning and Zoning Resources page for information on zoning or subdivision regulations, POCD, and flood maps.
Permits
For the convenience of both property owners and contractors, the City of Groton now employs an online permitting system through PermitLink. Through an easy-to-use web portal, you may apply for a building permit, attach supporting documents, and check the status of a permit and inspections.
