Birch Plain Creek

Birch Plain Creek Park, situated on an 11.4 acre site off of Thomas Road, adjacent to Birch Plain Creek, now has many trails, benches for viewing wildlife, and landscaping, thanks to volunteer work by Pfizer employees.

Calf Pasture Overlook

This small neighborhood passive recreation area offers fine views of an inlet within Baker Cove. A picnic area with seating provides a pleasant venue for enjoying an afternoon along the cove.

Eastern Point Beach

Eastern Point Beach is a lovely family oriented beach with seasonal amenities that include lifeguards, snack bar, restrooms and showers, and basketball and volleyball courts.

National Submarine Memorial

Dedicated to the 3,617 courageous submariners who lost their lives during World War II. There are fifty-two engraved granite stones surrounding the concrete walkways honoring each of the fifty-two U.S. Submarines lost during World War II.

Thames View Park

This a great place to have lunch and watch the boats and ferries go by on the Thames River. Thames River Heritage Park is located right next door and offers Water Taxi Rides.

Washington Park

Washington Park is conveniently located on Meridian Street next to the City of Groton Municipal Building. The park includes three baseball fields, two softball fields, playground equipment, tennis courts, outdoor fitness circuit, volleyball area, two full-length basketball courts and outdoor pavilions

Workers Memorial

The Workers Memorial ceremony is held annually on April 28th across the country to remember and honor union brothers and sisters who lost their lives while on the job.
