Concerts in the Park - A Summer of Great Music
The “Concerts in the Park” series is held every summer in Washington Park in the City of Groton. In 2008 the series was expanded to seven concerts. All concerts are held Friday nights in June, July and August, start at 6:30 p.m. and are free.

The concert series is co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.

Bands appearing in the Concert in the Park series were: Jay Dempsey’s new band, Jay Dempsey & Highway Call; The Black Burns, a classic rock n’ roll band out of Willimantic; 9Teen with with its Rock N' Soul sound; Dick Campo and his Big Band; High Times, a longtime, local favorite band; The Cartells, a local favorite band for more than 20 years; and the Rock “n” Soul Revue.

The concerts are designed to be especially appealing to families for a fun, inexpensive night out. Spectators are encouraged to bring their families and perhaps a picnic supper, since all the concerts are held during the early evening hours.

The concert schedule is available on both the City’s and Groton Utilities’ web sites. The concert info line is 446-4128.
