The Bulky Waste Collection Policy went into effect November 1, 2004. We will be picking up bulky waste items on Wednesday. Residents
do not have to pay for this service but there is a $20.00 fee per appliance.
Please Help Us Out
- Piles must be neatly stacked - all items separated
- No brush or lumber over 5 feet in any length
- Bulky Waste is picked up by hand
- Pickups will be scheduled on an on-call basis with the sanitation department at 860.446.4127
- Items must be separated into piles of the following - wood, brush, metal, furniture and miscellaneous. Items must be away from
trees, telephone poles, wires or other obstacles
- There is a $20.00 per item charge for the following:
- Refrigerators & Freezers
- Stoves & Ovens
- Convection Ovens
- Washers & Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Air Conditioners
- Dehumidifiers
- Fluorescent Lights
- Submersible Pumps
- Mercury Vapor Lamp Fixtures
- Heat Pumps
- Appliance Doors must be removed
- Tires will be picked up during a special collection held two times per year. There will be a charge per each tire
- Hazardous Material will not be picked up, but can be disposed of at the annual Household Hazardous Waste Day in the Spring
- Regular Household garbage & recyclable items will not be picked up
Bulky Waste Free Days at the Transfer Station is offered twice a year, in the Spring and in the Fall. No charge for disposal of bulky waste
from residential sources (Residents must deliver bulky waste to the Transfer Station). For more information,
